Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clevis, a product of JKB Innovations ("Clevis", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit clevis.pro, use the Clevis application, or otherwise interact with our services (together, the "Service"). Clevis processes much of this information on behalf of the business that holds the Clevis account — if you are an employee using Clevis at work, your employer controls that workspace and its data.
Information We Collect
- Account information. Name, email address, business name and details, role, and login credentials (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and never stored in plaintext by Clevis).
- Customer content. The business records your workspace creates in the Service — customers, jobs, schedules, shifts, notes, documents, invoices, and similar records.
- Time-clock and location data. If your workspace uses time tracking, Clevis records the time and, with your device's permission, a GPS location at the moment you clock in or out, and when you search for posted work near you. Location is captured at those moments only — Clevis does not track location continuously or in the background. This data is collected for and visible to the employer that controls your workspace, and to you.
- Connected-system data. When your workspace connects a system such as an accounting or payroll provider, we access the data needed to provide the Service. Access credentials and tokens are stored encrypted.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Clevis does not store full card or bank account numbers.
- Usage and device information. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken in the app (for example who approved a timesheet and when), used for security, auditing, and improving the Service.
- Remote support sessions. If you start a screen-sharing support session, our support staff can see your screen — and, only if you share the Clevis browser tab, interact with it — for the duration of the session. You start every session yourself with a single-use code and can end it at any time. Sessions are not recorded, and each one is logged in your workspace's audit trail.
- Cookies. We use a small number of functional cookies, for example to keep you signed in. We do not sell advertising or use third-party advertising cookies.
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and secure the Service;
- Record and present time, scheduling, and job data for your workspace;
- Create and update records in the systems your workspace connects, at your direction;
- Process payments, send invoices, and manage subscriptions;
- Respond to support requests and send service communications;
- Monitor, audit, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and preventing abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your Customer Data to train general-purpose AI models.
Service Providers
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf under contractual protections, including:
- Google Cloud / Firebase — application hosting, database, file storage, and authentication;
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Systems you connect — when your workspace connects a third-party system (for example an accounting or payroll provider), data flows between Clevis and that system as you direct.
Data Retention
We retain Customer Data for as long as the workspace's account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After termination, workspace data may be exported on request for 30 days and is then scheduled for deletion, except where retention is required by law. Expired remote-support signaling data is deleted automatically within days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Integration credentials are additionally encrypted at the application layer. Access within Clevis is role-based, sensitive operations run server-side, and administrative actions are audit-logged.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information. Because Clevis processes workspace data on behalf of the business that controls the workspace, employee requests are often fulfilled through that employer; we will assist either way. Contact us at the address below.
Children
The Service is for business use and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, with the "Last updated" date revised above.
